Sensational Snakes! Booktivity
2 pm, June 5, River Legacy Living Science Center. This joint program between the Arlington Public Library and River Legacy Living Science Center will explore the world of snakes through story time, rhymes, songs and crafts. A live snake exploration will be led by a River Legacy Naturalist. Geared for children in grades K-3. FREE.
Animal Exploration

10 am, June 28, River Legacy Living Science Center. Learn the basics of planning, planting and maintaining a vegetable garden during this adult workshop led by the Arlington Men's Garden Club. Go on a Trail Hike at River Legacy for National Trails Day!

River Legacy Living Science Center is excited to host several FREE guided trail hikes during National Trails Day on Saturday, June 7. An extended trail hike from the Science Center to the trails of River Legacy Parks will begin at 8:30 am, lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours. Shorter, stroller-friendly hikes are scheduled for 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm, and will take about 30 minutes to an hour. RSVP for a scheduled hike time by calling 817.860.6752. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled hike time to check-in.

Is your 3-, 4-, or 5-year-old starting preschool or "Big School" this fall? Give them a head start on school routines and learning fun by enrolling them in one of River Legacy's engaging weeklong summer classes in June and July.
Half-day programs mix outdoor explorations with hands-on indoor investigations and play time fun! Preschool offerings include Scales & Tails; Winged Wonders; Animal Sense-Abilities; Hide & Seek; Mighty Morphs and Wet & Wild.
Of course, Summer at the Science Center caters to elementary-aged and older children too! So, don't let your 7th and 8th grader miss out on the science behind roller coasters in Amusement Park Science! Students in this class will build their own mini-roller coaster then conclude with a visit to Six Flags Over Texas for a day of observations, calculations and riding!

A Portion of All Purchases Benefit River Legacy Foundation!
Join River Legacy Living Science Center at 11:30 am, June 11 for a Nature Adventure Story Hour at Barnes & Noble Arlington at The Parks Mall, 3881 S. Cooper Street. All ages and families are welcome to participate in this annual event which includes story time, a craft and a visit with some lively creatures.
During the day, a portion of all purchases at the Barnes & Noble at The Parks will benefit River Legacy Foundation's environmental education programs. Just let the cashier know that you would like to support River Legacy! So plan your summer reading and stock up on June 11!

Want to be a part of connecting children and families to the natural world? Join us as a volunteer. River Legacy volunteers are vital to our mission and help us in a variety of ways from special events, community festivals and day-to-day operations.
